Fund-raising campaign for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria
RSD is helping locally with a donation of € 25,000
More than 50,000 people lost their lives when the earth shook in Turkey and Syria on 6 February. The devastating earthquake reached a magnitude of up to 7.8 on the Richter scale.
Hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless by the earthquake, roads and paths were destroyed, hospitals, schools and airports collapsed.
For many years we have had a close friendship with tourism officials in Turkey. The tour operator RSD has already transported hundreds of thousands of travellers to this impressive country. Therefore, it quickly became clear that RSD should also help:
RSD, the local partner agencies and employees of the company network donated a total of more than € 25,000. This meant that several vans full of urgently needed relief supplies such as nappies, food, hygiene items, clothes, blankets and cooking utensils could be brought to the people on the ground. The parcels were accompanied by a personal letter conveying the great solidarity and sympathy of RSD and the local agencies.
